What are personal data for?

English

Person

All members for this website are connected as family. That are men and woman, girls and boys who are part of a family. For instance: I Pter and i have 1 brother en 2 sisters. Of course I do have a father and a mother. My mother had a different surname. In the past, but also in recent times a girl get the husbands name whenm she marries. My mon did not change and stayed the same person, only her surname changed.
In the Familymatters website, we use the surname of a person at birthtime. But be careful! This is not the same evrywhere in this world. In South America children obtain their mom's name and get their fathersname attached as a second name. That is handy to realize when you are researching a family. Do you have to look for which name where. Famillymatters looks along the male heritance line. My mother is not visible in the portrait gallery of her husbands familyname. And my face can not be found in the gallery of my mothers familyname.
It is most handy to mention the partners name in the section `Marriage` and even place a portrait there.
